1953 as a local railway society for general interest in railways, railway modelling and model engineering.

Based
Leigh on Sea providing regular meetings and occasional outings, a library and model railway test-tracks.

1956
involved with centenary celebrations for the London Tilbury and Southend lines in 1956

1981
provided an exhibition of LTS photographs and models for the LTS 125 celebrations,.

1989
involved with centenary celebrations for the Great Eastern Essex lines.

2003
presened model railway exhibition to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary.

2013
presened model railway exhibition to celebrate the club's 60th anniversary.

2020
presened model railway exhibition called SEERS on Show.

2023
celebrated SEERS's 70th aniversary with a model railway exhibition called SEERS@70

Regularly exhibits
at local model railway shows.
